Child maintenance follows the Düsseldorfer Tabelle: the table amount results from the paying parent's adjusted net income and the child's age; child benefit is then credited (half of it for minor children). If the income left after maintenance falls below the protected minimum (Selbstbehalt), the amount may be reduced (a shortfall case).

Spousal/separation maintenance is far more complex and depends on many factors; the estimate here is only a first ballpark. We are happy to provide a sound calculation – including special needs or adult-child maintenance – in a personal initial consultation, in English.
