The cost of a divorce consists of court costs and lawyer costs. Both depend on the procedural value (Verfahrenswert), which the court sets – in practice three times the spouses’ combined monthly net income, plus the pension rights adjustment and any substantial assets. What matters is the assessment in your individual case.
